Happy New Year-It’s Not Too Late!

Hey everybody! Happy New Year! I realize January is well underway, but I just had to write a post about a New Year’s Challenge that I’m super excited about!

Back in December, an acquaintance sent an email inviting me (and others) to join her (and a very large group of women) on a year-long journey of memorizing scripture. Now this is no ordinary team of women. No, this is the Siesta Scripture Memory Team!

Here’s the lowdown: This program is put on by Living Proof Ministries, which, if you are a Christian woman living in the United States, you probably already are familiar with as being associated with Beth Moore. And if you are not familiar with Beth, well now is the time for an introduction! Beth has written several best-selling Bible studies and travels across the country teaching God’s word at live events. Most importantly, to me, she is a Godly woman who studies God’s word and encourages us to grow in our daily walk with him!

Now, here is the jumping off page for the launch of the 2015 SSMT:  http://blog.lproof.org/2015/01/siesta-scripture-memory-team-2015-verse-1.html

There you will find the introduction from Beth!

Then go here for instructions on how to get started: http://blog.lproof.org/2014/12/siesta-scripture-memory-team-2015-instructions-and-spiral-information.html

That’s where you’ll get started on your scripture memorization for this year. It’s so exciting! And it’s really not that difficult. You only need to choose one verse, twice a month. That’s 24 verses by the end of the year. But you need to get started in order to get the most out of it! Remember, you get out what you put in.

I’m looking forward to this new year, and being committed to memorizing God’s word. I hope you will join me (and thousands of other women) on this wonderful journey! Now let’s get started!!!

The Happiness Project

Gotcha, didn’t I? What is The Happiness Project? If you don’t already know, it’s a book written by Gretchen Rubin, in which the author spends a year discovering how to live a happier life. And it seems like everyone has been talking about it! Well, that’s not exactly what this post is about. But it did get me thinking about some of the things that make me happy. And I’ve been thinking about doing a “Top Ten”. So, there you have it! My “Top Ten Happy List”!

10. Kramer. He’s a poodle. But don’t tell him. He thinks he’s a real boy. Just looking at his sweet face makes me happy!

1. If you know me, you had to be expecting this. My relationship with God makes me happy. Actually, it provides a deep, abiding joy that cannot be replaced with anyone or anything. Only God can provide the peace and freedom that lives within my soul on a minute by minute, daily basis.

So there you have it! A Top Ten Happiness List! Now I could go on to twenty or thirty. But let’s face it-you’d get bored! But hopefully this has inspired you to think about things both big and small, that make you happy! And of course, as always, I’d love to hear about them! Leave a comment to share what makes you happy today!i hope you have a happy and blessed weekend!

It’s Currently Time!

I love this part of my week! It forces me to take time to sit and think about what I’ve been doing recently. And it give me the opportunity to share with you, and you with me!

I’m Currently

Reviewing: Lots of fantastic products and companies! My latest review is for ENERGYbits, and you can read all about how I’ve started using these little “bits of food” (algae) to energize me for my runs. I’ll be taking the last of my sample provided by ENERGYbits tomorrow before participating in a 5k. Wish me luck!

And I promise, very soon, I’ll be reviewing my beauty subscription service, Birchbox!

Wishing: My house would sell quickly! I’m so ready to move to town!

Eating: Fresh Produce! I love summer! My own square foot garden, the farmers market, and even the grocers have great tasting fresh berries!
image
Carrying: My iPad! Yes, it’s an obsession. And I’m okay with that!

Running: Wow, this one’s easy. I’m running a lot now, and loving it. God has sent me two beautiful women to run with for the summer at least. This has breathed new life into my attitude and motivation. We encourage one another and spur each other on to greatness. Well, our own form of greatness! I’m scheduled to run a 5k in the morning, my second of the season. At the beginning of 2013 I set a goal of participating in six timed events this year! I’m a little behind, but I’m confident I will be able get them all in! I can do all things thru Him who gives me strength! (Philippians 4:13)
